She took time out to study jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and in 1995 got her musical career break when Ronnie Scott offered her a week at his club: she has performed regularly at the famous Soho jazzerie ever since.

Trudy is a director of Jazzizit Records with Derek Nash. There are over 40 releases on the label. Trudy also co-presents BBC Radio Kent’s Jazz hour on a Wednesday night with Roger Day where she plays latest UK releases as well as classic jazz recordings.
She is a sought after jazz singing teacher and teaches annually on the JAZZ ACADEMY Summer Course. Trudy also tours the UK with her popular kids' show JAZZ FOR JUNIORS (www.jazzforjuniors.co.uk)

Derek Nash - A vibrant and charismatic performer on all 4 sax’s from Soprano to Baritone, Derek Nash is equally at home leading the award winning Jazz ensemble Sax Appeal to Funky Heights, or swinging his way to best CD of the year 2000 with Spike Robinson. This took him to South America for the first time.   It was during a gig in Germany with Jim Mullen that he met Georgie Fame. Geoff joined his group in 1995 and later that year, through Georgie, got to perform with the great Van Morrison on a short tour of the UK. Recordings followed : Georgie Fame Live at Ronnie Scotts, Ian Shaw (for which he also designed the CD cover) and Guy Barker's album, 'What Love Is' which featured guest vocalist, Sting and a 26 piece string orchestra.Concert highlights were with Dianne Reeves, Ben Sidran, Norma Winstone and Guy Barker with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as well as a night of Smooth Jazz with Dave Koz and Peter White. 14 Oct. ONE OF USA'S TOP JAZZ MUSICIANS  KEN PEPLOWSKI - Clarinet/Tenor Sax

JOHN PEARCE - Piano
DAVE GREEN - Double-bass
STEVE BROWN - Drums

Ken Peplowski - The late Mel Torme´said, "Since the advent of Benny
Goodman, there have been too few clarinetists to fill the void that Goodman left.
Ken Peplowski is most certainly one of those few. The man is magic. "The New
York Times pronounced a concert of Ken's "Goodman Straight Up, With A Twist Of Lightning. "These quotes only hint at Ken Peplowski's virtuosity - not only is
he an outstanding clarinetist and saxophone player, but he's also a charismatic entertainer who has been delighting audiences for over 30 years with his
warmth, wit, and musicianship. After a year of college, Ken joined the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow. "Buddy heard me with my
quartet at a Cleveland jazz festival along with Teddy Wilson's trio and the Dorsey band, and made an offer right then and there for me to not only play lead alto, but to have a feature spot on the clarinet with the rhythm section. Peplowski met Sonny Stitt while on the road with the Dorsey band, and studied with him. In 1984, Benny Goodman
came out of retirement and put together a new band, hiring Ken on tenor saxophone. Peplowski wound up signing with Concord Records, under the tutelage of Carl Jefferson, the founder and president, and recorded close to 20 albums as a leader, including "The Natural Touch" in 1992 which won Best Jazz Record of the Year by the Prises Deutschen Schallplatten Kritiken, and "The Other Portrait", recorded in
Sophia Bulgaria with the symphony orchestra and highlighting Ken's classical side. His last two records were "Lost In The Stars" and "Easy To Remember" (on Nagel Heyer Records), the latter of which features Bobby Short on his last recording.

John Pearce- From 1975 to 1985 he was a member of Ray Ellington's Quartet working at leading London venues for residencies, as well as two world cruises and radio and TV work. During the same period he became a regular session player, working with the BBC Radio Orchestra, Jack Parnell's Orchestra, Robert Farnon, Billy May, as well as touring with the James Last Orchestra. His jazz work has taken him all over the world, including a tour of the Blue Note Jazz Clubs in Japan. He has accompanied many singers, including Anita O'Day, Selina Jones, Peggy Lee, Elaine Delmar and Annie Ross, Mark Murphy and a multitude of instrumentalists: Dick Morrisey, Art Farmer, Woody Shaw, Kenny Davern, Warren Vache, Eddie Daniels, Ken Peplowski, Tommy Whittle and Ronnie Scott. He has been a member of Scott Hamilton's Quartet since 2000, and has performed with Scott throughout Europe.

Dave Green- His bass playing accomplishments could fill a book!  See Harri's gig at Anne Boleyn 28 Nov below for info.

Steve Brown - By 1992 he was playing with visiting Americans, including Harry Allen. As part of the Jim Hunt Quartet he was a finalist in the European Jazz Competition in Germany. He also worked in the Far East with Dave Newton, as well as playing in Spain and France. He has worked with almost every major British artist, and has accompanied many visiting American musicians, including Conte Candoli, Kenny Davern, Harry Edison, Art Farmer, Mundell Lowe, George Masso, Warren Vache, Ralph Sutton, Junior Mance and Barry Harris. In addition to being part of Scott Hamilton's Quartet since 2000, he is a member of John Bunch's British trio, and has recorded a number of albums with both of these groups. His other studio credits include albums with Stacy Kent, Dave Cliff, various Alan Barnes groups for Alan's Woodville label, Dave Newton and Andy Panayi.
